Welcome.
My name’s Adrian, founder and fellow PetrolHead.
Some say I spend too much time browsing classified ads, bidding on, and occasionally winning, online and in-person car auctions, visiting car dealers, watching car videos, listening to automotive podcasts, reading car magazines, spec’ing the perfect car on a manufacturer’s configurator even if I’m not buying one, attending car-related events and meet-ups, going for a drive for no other reason than I want to, taking part in driving adventures and rallies, and even racing cars too…
…I disagree.
People like us don’t need help. We need more.
That’s why I've made it my mission to help fellow PetrolHeads feed their addiction and get their fix of car culture and automotive lifestyle content.
Don’t suffer in silence. Join me, and let’s fuel our PetrolHeads together.
P.S.
I’ve been in business for over 30 years, which has allowed me to indulge my passion for cars.
But like you, I’ve always dreamed of…
Being one of the characters lucky enough to present Top Gear and not only slide cars around our very own circuit but also take a Zonda down through Europe with a couple of mates. Comedically review cars favoured by caravan enthusiasts (but obviously avoid the segments like turning a Robin Reliant into a Space Shuttle or being part of the Chris Evans era of shows).
Getting privileged access to car events throughout the world.
Being one of the members of the Collecting Cars Podcast quintet.
Creating the UK’s version of Car Week.
Buying and occasionally selling interesting cars and making a bit of money while doing it (I may struggle with the selling part if I’m honest with you).
You’re in the right place.
P.P.S
Here are a few answers to popular car-related questions so you can start to get to know me:
Favourite Car: Honda RA108
Best 2-Car Garage: A Range Rover and a Caterham - it’s two ends of the automotive spectrum. But there are no rules to say you can only have two cars.
The Car I Wish I’d Never Sold: All of them, but if I had to pick one, my manual Lamborghini Murciélago.
The One That Got Away: Pagani Zonda.
In 2006, my now-wife, Alison, talked me out of buying the new Zonda being exhibited at Salon Privé. It could have been grounds for divorce if she hadn't admitted her mistake later.
Best Car-Related Experience: This was the first time I could drive independently after passing my test. I knew it was just the start of great things to come.
Most Surprising Car: Jaguar D-Type. For a car from the 1950s, it’s unbelievably good to drive on track.
Most Disappointing Car: The Aston Martin V550. I wanted to love it, but after jumping out of a Ferarri 550 Maranello, I couldn’t.
Guilty Pleasure (car-related, obviously): A Koenig Specials Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC (one of many cars that got away)
Most Fun Thing To Do In A Car: Sliding a Caterham around cones in a car park. But Wadi bashing in the desert comes a close second.
Favourite Race Track: Spa - it’s just the right blend of fear and excitement.
