The New AC Cobra GT Roadster

Do we really want a new Cobra?

I've never owned or even driven a genuine Cobra, but I know a few owners, and this all-new AC Cobra GT Roadster could be one they want to add to their collections.

As Britain's oldest active vehicle manufacturer, AC Cars has decided to showcase what they say is the true successor to the iconic 1960s Cobra.

Based at Donington Park, they're offering dynamic demonstration events to let potential clients experience the roar of a 663-bhp supercharged V8 engine wrapped in a sleek carbon-fibre body.

I like that this modern version retains the classic Cobra silhouette but boasts a unique aluminium spaceframe chassis and contemporary ergonomics, meaning the GT Roadster blends timeless design with cutting-edge technology in both left—and right-hand drive, with automatic or manual transmission.

But, I'm not sure the new car is for me, especially with an automatic gearbox, but then again, I'm not their target market.
