This sixth-generation 5 Series Touring seems like a versatile and stylish car. It features a range of drive options, including the first all-electric i5 Touring, so it could be the pick of the daily driver bunch.

I’ve had several M3s, M5s and even an M6 BMW as my daily driver, but these days, the out-and-out M versions may not be as well suited to UK roads.

Available in four trims, including the all-electric BMW i5 M60, the new Touring model boasts power, advanced automated driving systems, and a luxurious cabin, making it ideal when you want performance but not at the expense of comfort. 

I can’t wait to drive this new 5 Series Touring because I want to see if this could be the dog-carrying daily driver to beat.
