The Fatsest Golf Just Got Better

Volkswagen has just unveiled the new Golf R and Golf R Estate, their most powerful versions yet, featuring a 333 PS 2.0-litre turbocharged engine.
This latest iteration not only brings an increase in power but also includes enhancements in design, technology, and performance.
The new models have a sharper design with LED Plus headlights, an illuminated VW badge, and new 19-inch forged wheels.
Inside, the updated infotainment system now includes a larger 10.9-inch display and improved interface, along with Digital Cockpit Pro that offers R-specific views, which was needed as the previous model’s system wasn’t the best.

Petrolheads will appreciate the R-Performance package, which raises the top speed from about 155 mph to 168 mph and adds features like a lap timer and G-meter, which may be more relevant here in the UK.
The adaptive chassis control and Vehicle Dynamics Manager should ensure that the Golf R balances everyday comfort with exceptional driving dynamics, which is key given the state of our roads.

There’s also a Golf R Black Edition, which introduces a sophisticated dark aesthetic with exclusive black detailing and includes the standard R-Performance package.
